I was really excited to photograph this wedding. The bride, Pam, is the sister of one of my 2008 brides (Jamie) and I always love reconnecting with families whom I've worked with in the past.
I have to be honest though...I was a LITTLE more nervous than I usually am before a wedding. For no other reason than geography and weather. :) Some brides might be scared to use the following three words in the same sentence: Bismarck, December, Wedding. After all just last week temperatures were hovering in the balmy -20 range in Bismarck. Its difficult to capture real moments of a bride and groom when their sole focus is making sure they dont contract frost-bite! Just one more picture....I promise! :)
But I lucked out in two ways. First, the weather was uncharacteristically warm for this time of year and there was very little wind. It allowed us to be outside a little bit longer than expected and we were able to photograph at several locations throughout the quaint town of Bismarck. I love how "even" the light is in the winter time and I am so glad we got to utilize some of it. Second, I feel privileged that I got to work with Pam and Curt whom allowed me to take "one more picture" a couple of times. :) Pam and Curt thank you so much for inviting me all the way to Bismarck to photograph your special day. Your collective patience and passion are inspiring and I feel so fortunate that you trusted me to document your special day. Enjoy your trip to St. Lucia...I hear its warm there. :)
