This weekend I had the most fabulous time in Colorado with a very special couple whose wedding I photographed last year. They brought me out to their new home of Denver, CO for their first anniversary and it couldn't have been more perfect! I have so many photos to share, so I will be posting more, but here's a sneak peak! :)
The brilliant Aspens made the mountains look like they were on fire! I have never seen a more perfect backdrop...
The elk near Estes Park were UNREAL!! We heard many of them bugling and also were able to get quite close to some of the females! Have you ever heard an elk bugle? I never would have guessed such a high-pitched "scream" could come from such a massive animal!
Kate and Tim most likely win the award for the couple who has known each other the longest - they grew up living across the street from each other! I just love their story and I felt so privileged to be a part of their beautiful wedding on Saturday. From the gorgeous weather and Kate & Tim's amazing friends and family to the exemplary work of Georgia at Christos; their day was absolutely flawless!
Kate's "something blue"
The moment Kate & Tim first saw each other was beautiful!
Catching a ride on the golf cart to take some photos!
A funny joke was played when the pastor asked for the rings and the best man, along with the entire line of groomsmen, started searching their pockets :)
Celebrating in the limo (I am a big fan of the party hats :))
A moment at the lovely Mere's Park in St. Paul, MN
Friday's wedding not only commemorated the union of two wonderful people, but also the bride's birthday and her grandparent's 55th wedding anniversary! The on-and-off rain during the day didn't discourage anyone and all went as planned - even the outdoor ceremony! It was an incredibly fun wedding to photograph and such a privilege to capture Nikki & Ryan's day! It was especially great because Ryan and I went to the same college and it was nice seeing so many familiar faces celebrating together. :)
Nikki & Ryan decided to see each other before the ceremony, which allowed plenty of time for photos
The ceremony was of course, beautiful :)
Nikki with her grandma enjoying...
...Irish dancers of course! This was a very fun surprise for Nikki's grandparents who were celebrating their anniversary
They happily did their first dance to "Islands in the Stream" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. It was fantastic! :)
Tonight's engagement shoot at Minnehaha Falls was brilliant! Cara and Adam are getting married in exactly 1 year from tomorrow and I'm so excited for their wedding!! (feel free to move up the wedding date guys - I'm pretty anxious to photograph you again!):)
Their smiles are so genuine and their love for each other (and for Levi) made my job easy tonight. :)
The happy little family - Cara, Adam & of course, Levi :)
