Elise & Bill

August 14, 2008     Engagements

It's interesting to me how much of my business has taken place in Illinois the past couple of weeks. I must say, I truly love the variety and adventures this job brings. There seems to always be something exciting just around the corner! :)

Elise and Bill are such a wonderful couple and I'm so honored to be their photographer. Bill and I actually graduated together from Winona State and I was thrilled when he contacted me about his engagement!

The engagement shoot took place at Bill's Grandmother's picture-perfect property settled on over 200 acres in Dundee, IL. Luckily, Bill had a golf cart for us to cruise around in for the session. :)

Elise & Bill - thank you!! I can't tell you how much I look forward to your wedding in February!!

One of my favorite parts of the shoot was when Bill & Elise got into a little rowboat on the mirror-like pond.

Jenna & Michael

August 12, 2008     Weddings

What a weekend! I photographed 2 fabulous weddings and I can't believe how much happened in such a short amount of time! I was so happy how everything turned out and is definitely a weekend I will never forget!

On Friday, Jenna and Michael's wedding at Oak Ridge Conference Center in Chaska, MN was incredible to photograph! All of the girls had their make-up done by the amazing Al Updike of Bloomingdale's Laura Mercier and they were just stunning! The flowers, from Festivities, were absolutely perfect and Shane Christenson of Oak Ridge did an extraordinary job with both the ceremony and reception. Even with a little rain during the ceremony, the day really couldn't have gone smoother!

Jenna and Michael along with their families were so happy and relaxed the entire day! It was such a joyous event and so much fun to be a part of.

I will let the photos tell the rest of the story...:)

Every bride should play a little Guitar Hero before they get married!

Married!

Jenna's grandparents have been married over 60 years and are still so in love :)

August 8, 2008     News

Let the games begin!! (and I'm not just talking about the Olympics):) Today I have the honor to photograph what I know will be a beautiful wedding at Oak Ridge Conference Center here in Minnesota. The weather is just perfect today and I'm so happy because Jenna and Michael will be married outside. It's going to be amazing!
Then, in the wee hours of the morning I will be headed back to Chicago to photograph Tonray and Bob's wedding. It's going to be a whirlwind, but I'm really looking forward to the adventure and feel so honored that these special couples have chosen me to capture their wedding days.
Check back next week to see the highlights!

Tonray & Bob

August 5, 2008     Engagements

I had the opportunity to meet this wonderful couple just last weekend while I was in Chicago and lucky for me, their wedding is this Saturday! Tonray and Bob are incredible and so in love!! I'm really glad it worked out to meet them before the big day!!

This weekend is going to be jam-packed with the beautiful wedding of Jenna & Michael on Friday here in MN and Tonray & Bob's wedding on Saturday in Chicago. I'm really looking forward to it, but if you don't hear from me on Sunday it's because I'm sleeping. :)

Tonray and Bob agreed to do a little photo shoot with me and I loved every second of it! They just "fit" together. :)

Celebrating with Sushi

August 4, 2008     Personal

Eric has been telling me that I need to celebrate not only the big accomplishments, but also the small things in life. So, today when my photo appeared on Outdoor Photographer's website, we decided it was time for a little sushi treat at Nami in Minneapolis. If you are a sushi fan you just must try to this place! Although eating the mackerel with a little of the skin still remaining was a little creepy, I enjoyed every piece...even the squid (or whatever it was). It always surprises me how filling those little buggers are!

Anyhow...I'm still hoping to see my photo(s) on the glossy pages of a magazine someday, but today marked one step in the right direction...and well-deserving of the consumption of raw fish. :)
