Canadian Adventures - Part 2

June 19, 2008 Personal

As promised, here are some more photos from Canada! |

I absolutely love photographing nature! |

This was a remote catch-and-release lake we visited. Only one boat was on the lake at a time - talk about peaceful! |

My parents won the award for the biggest fish! My Dad caught this enormous Pike... |

...and my Mom caught this 29-inch walleye! It was amazing! (I do want to note that I still hold the family walleye record at 30.25 inches) :) My Mom sure got close to beating it though!! |

This photo was taken during our flight back to town. I couldn't believe the amount of water in Canada! |

Canadian Adventures

June 18, 2008 Personal

I just returned from an amazing week-long trip in the Canadian wilderness and can't tell you how refreshing and beautiful it was up there. The air was so pure and you could literally drink the water straight out of the lake! (Yes, there are places like this still on earth!) This might sound crazy, but it felt great to breathe up there. Being in such a remote area for a week was beyond amazing.
Eric and I, along with my parents, took a float plane into a small fishing camp on Lawrence Lake, which was about 65 miles north of International Falls. So many memories were made during the many hours that were spent on the water - from boat portages to shore lunches of fresh walleye, this was truly an experience that will never be forgotten.
I have so many photos I want to share, so will split them up into 2 posts. Make sure to check back tomorrow to see more!
I think this photo is my favorite |

My parents boating to the "pothole" - our favorite fishing spot |

The lighting was amazing! |

This loon was so gracious to stick around long enough for me to take the photo. I just love the reflection in the water. |

I have never seen so many eagles in my life! |

Eric and I thought it would be fun to feed one of the eagles that was flying around our boat. So, we threw one of our walleyes into the water and giving up our fish was so worth it when the eagle swooped down near our boat and let out a call "thanking" us for the food! Isn't it cool how you can see the fish in his talons!? |

Into the Wild

June 10, 2008 Personal

I am headed into the Canadian wilderness today for a fly-in fishing adventure! I will be taking tons of photos, so make sure to check back next week! I will not have phone or internet while I'm away and returning to the office on Wednesday, June 18th. I will be returning all messages and emails at that time.
I look forward to sharing my adventure with you when I return! |

Erin - 9 months

June 9, 2008 Portraits

On this beautiful Monday morning I photographed my youngest niece for her 9-month session. It's amazing to me how different all of "my kid's" little personalities are and how just when I think they can't possibly get any cuter - they do! I'm so in love! :)
Erin's our little serious one, but will let us see her new little teeth if we act silly enough. :) |

"Ok, ok, I'll smile for you auntie" :) |

Oh, and by the way, I am "so big"! (but it's a very serious matter) |

A special thanks to the amazing photographer, Rich Smith for helping me out and getting me in the loop! :) |
