Erin & Marty

September 6, 2010

Erin & Marty couldn't have picked a better day for their beautiful outdoor ceremony at the MN Landscape Arboretum followed by their reception at Bayview Event Center overlooking Lake Minnetonka. The day was flawless and simply observing the way the two glanced at one another, it was clear that they are a perfect match.

Congratulations Erin & Marty!! Thank you so much for inviting me to photograph your magnificent day!

Erin's shoes were to die for! :)

Kate & Jeff

August 27, 2010

This year the majority of the weddings I'm photographing are outdoors and I'm loving the opportunities these weddings bring! :) As we all know, living in Minnesota, you never know what kind of weather you are going to get. Well, last Saturday the weather decided to give us one of those perfect summer days up in Northern Minnesota. You know...the kind that gets burned into your memory and haunts you while sitting in your office Monday morning. The sun was shining, the air was warm and there was only the slightest of ripples on Sanborn Lake. I had such a wonderful time photographing the day and felt so honored to be a part of it!

Kate & Jeff - thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to photograph your special day!

Turns out sunflowers work really well for ring shots!

Does this little sweetheart look familiar?? She's my niece, Erin!

Barbara & Chris

August 19, 2010

There are certain people who come into your life that warm your heart and you just know that they are good, beautiful souls. Barbara and Chris are two of those people. The love these two have for one another, coupled with the genuine care of all of their guests, made this wedding such a wonderful experience. Nestled in the woods at Chris's family's cabin on Lake Ida in Alexandria, MN, the couple wed just as the sun made its way through the rain clouds. It was just perfect and yet another wedding I was so thankful to be a part of.

Thank you Barbara & Chris for including us in your celebration. It was such a joy capturing your day!

One of my favorite dress shots of all time :)

Barbara was SO much fun to photograph! :)

Everyone was talking about how awesome Chris's shoes were. I would have to agree.

Colorful ribbons lined the walkway to the wedding. Such a unique touch!

My oh-so-fabulous assistant Erin captured this photo

Elizabeth & Scott

July 26, 2010

Where to begin!? This wedding was the perfect way to get back into the swing of things after the birth of my son and WOW did it feel great to shoot a wedding again!

Elizabeth and Scott's day was absolutely amazing and the storms that were swirling by didn't cause anyone to skip a beat. Elizabeth and Scott just broke out in laughter when the rain started coming down in the middle of their outdoor ceremony...talk about good sports! It was such a memorable day and I personally think the cute umbrellas that had to go up for a short time made for some great photos. :) Elizabeth & Scott were radiant and, as you will see below, they were beaming the entire day!

Elizabeth & Scott - thank you from the bottom of my heart for having us photograph your day. It was such an incredible honor!!

Venue: Bearpath Golf & Country Club
Florist: Ashley Fox Designs
Entertainment: Bill Hermann

Bearpath is such a gorgeous setting for an outdoor wedding

Elizabeth just about to see Scott for the first time that day!

Ashley Fox Designs did an extraordinary job on the flowers

A little rain to give the couple good luck (not that they need it) :)

The rain stopped just in time for Elizabeth & Scott to exchange rings...it was perfect :)

They were so much fun to photograph!

Bill Hermann had the reception hopping from start to finish!

Pam & Curt

December 21, 2009

I was really excited to photograph this wedding. The bride, Pam, is the sister of one of my 2008 brides (Jamie) and I always love reconnecting with families whom I've worked with in the past.

I have to be honest though...I was a LITTLE more nervous than I usually am before a wedding. For no other reason than geography and weather. :) Some brides might be scared to use the following three words in the same sentence: Bismarck, December, Wedding. After all just last week temperatures were hovering in the balmy -20 range in Bismarck. Its difficult to capture real moments of a bride and groom when their sole focus is making sure they dont contract frost-bite! Just one more picture....I promise! :)

But I lucked out in two ways. First, the weather was uncharacteristically warm for this time of year and there was very little wind. It allowed us to be outside a little bit longer than expected and we were able to photograph at several locations throughout the quaint town of Bismarck. I love how "even" the light is in the winter time and I am so glad we got to utilize some of it. Second, I feel privileged that I got to work with Pam and Curt whom allowed me to take "one more picture" a couple of times. :) Pam and Curt thank you so much for inviting me all the way to Bismarck to photograph your special day. Your collective patience and passion are inspiring and I feel so fortunate that you trusted me to document your special day. Enjoy your trip to St. Lucia...I hear its warm there. :)

A little seasonally appropriate ring shot:

Pam getting a little help from her sister Jamie. (I can't wait to photograph her baby girl in February!)

Pam chose the perfect color for a winter wedding!

The guys cleaned up nicely as well! :)

Just one more picture...

I PROMISE....

:)
